Today my sweet baby girl turned 9 years old! I can’t believe how fast she is growing up. In honor of her silly self, this is – word for word – a voicemail that she left for me Sunday night when she was spending the night at my mom’s house.
Sunday night, February 20th at 8:20pm – from Marley to me:
(all in one breath) – “Hi Mommy I wanted to call you I’m about to watch Ghost Whisperer but you can even ask Mama because we went by a train and it had 106 cars in it right?” (Mama in the background said, “Right!”) Marley continues, very excited now, “And that’s right because it’s TRUE! 106 FREAKIN’ CARS! (Calmer now…)”Call me back cuz I love you. And I like pie.”
My sweet daughter made this necklace for me. It’s my bling bling. 🙂 I’ll be wearing it tomorrow. It’ll be a heavy day, and this will remind me why I keep breathing.
“Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be all right.
Singin’: “Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be all right!”
Rise up this mornin’,
Smiled with the risin’ sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin’ sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin’, (“This is my message to you-ou-ou:”)
“Life, the gift of nature, love, the gift of life, a Kiss, the gift of Love.”
The kid is a creative genius…
She is a thing of beauty….
Since she spent Father’s Day with her dad, we celebrated Father’s Day with her step-dad today!
These are 2 of my favorite people – love them SOOO much! 🙂
Today is the 13th anniversary of my dad’s death. I was 19. He was 47. Massive heart attack, died in my arms.
I miss him terribly…so much it hurts. The pain stays fresh no matter how much time passes.
I honestly had no intention of crying when I took this picture, but the tears came, and it felt good.
I’ll never know what it’s like to have daddy walk me down the aisle. Or hear the laughter of my daughter playing with her grandpa. But I have 19 years of very wonderful memories to cling to, and stories to share with my daughter.
Daddy is alive and well in my heart. I would just give anything to have him here for 5 minutes, just to hug him and hear him say he’s proud of me.
Happy Father’s Day tomorrow, Daddy. I love you so much, and miss you like crazy.
Love, Kirsty-Poo XOXO
My daughter is such an incredibly young lady. She was out of town for my birthday (June 4th) so she asked my mom to help her plan something special to make up for it. Last night, she cooked dinner – ravioli with meat sauce and steamed veggies – and baked a chocolate cake to celebrate my birthday and my hubby’s birthday (June 24th). She even made cards for us and got balloons. She looked so beautiful, dressing up for the occasion.
What a great day!
